Quel chemin parcouru depuis les années 70 ou 80, quand tous les flics étaient des braves types, des “chevaliers au grand coeur”, genre Starsky et Hutch! “The Shield”, c’est une sorte de monumental “reality check”, une plongée sans concession dans le no man’s land moral où se débattent les vrais policiers de terrain, ceux qui combattent en première ligne, loin des technocrates en costard trois-pièces qui font des grands discours sur l’éthique dans le confort de leurs bureaux lambrissés. Farmington, le district de Los Angeles où se passe cette série, est un immonde marigot où les gangs, la drogue, la prostitution et le racket gangrènent tout. Au coeur de ce marigot, une troupe de choc, la “Strike Team”, coachée par Vic Mackey, une tête brûlée qui cogne d’abord et cause ensuite. Le problème de Mackey, c’est qu’il se trouve pris entre deux feux. D’un côté, les crapules qu’il doit arrêter. De l’autre, les politicards qui scrutent ses méthodes et lui cherchent des poux dans la tête. Façon de parler, bien sûr, vu que Mackey n’a pas un poil sur le caillou… Mais ramener “The Shield” à un “pitch” aussi sommaire serait presque une insulte! Il y a tant de choses à aimer dans cette série! D’abord, le punch de la réalisation, avec cette caméra à l’épaule qui nous met au contact de la rue, qui sait fouiller les personnages en tournant autour d’eux, qui nous donne parfois l’impression d’assister à des scènes comme par effraction. Autre qualité, l’ingéniosité des scénarios qui mènent habilement de front l’arc narratif couvrant les sept saisons, à savoir la trajectoire de Mackey, et les intrigues ponctuelles. C’est à travers ces dernières, d’ailleurs, que le commissariat de Farmington prend sa vraie dimension, en faisant vivre sous nos yeux toute une petite communauté de flics qui s’aiment, s’apprécient et parfois se détestent. Des flics terriblement humains, comme Dutch, par exemple, qui de saison en saison prend une importance croissante jusqu’à devenir à mon avis l’un des personnages les plus aboutis de toute la série. Et puis, quelles performances d’acteurs! De Michael Chiklis à Walton Goggins, le casting est absolument parfait et tutoie carrément le génie avec la participation de Forest Whitaker qui, dans la saison 5, investit son rôle d’une subtilité inouïe. Non, décidément, “The Shield” n’est pas une série télé comme les autres. C’est une véritable oeuvre d’art, qui nous dit quelque chose de profond sur la nature humaine et qui le dit avec un talent énorme.

Il est vrai que la photo ne montre presque rien.<br/>LE coffret est composé comme un livre, couverture rigide, chaque pages contenant un dvd. 28 DVD pour les 7 saisons incluant aussi un dvd bonus sur la série ainsi que les premiers épisodes d'une nouvelle série.<br/>C'est de plus un réel plaisir de pouvoir enfin voir ces episodes en VOST et surtout en 16/9e. Réservé depuis plus d’une semaine, j’ai enfin reçu mon exemplaire de l’intégrale de THE SHIELD.
J’ai été agréablement surpris par la qualité de ce coffret. Il est vrai que la photo ne montre presque rien.
LE coffret est composé comme un livre, couverture rigide, chaque pages contenant un dvd. 28 DVD pour les 7 saisons incluant aussi un dvd bonus sur la série ainsi que les premiers épisodes d’une nouvelle série.
C’est de plus un réel plaisir de pouvoir enfin voir ces episodes en VOST et surtout en 16/9e. Fini le 4/3 imposé par les chaines TNT.

Si vous êtes fan de la série, n’hésitez plus.

On y suit le travail d'une brigade de la police new-yorkaise, la "Major Case Squad", qui s'occupe des affaires criminelles les plus sensibles. Réalisation sobre, esthétique réaliste, intrigues subtiles. Question qualité, c'est tout simplement irréprochable. Mais ce qui donne en plus une âme à cette série, c'est à mon avis le personnage du Détective Goren, interprété avec une incroyable finesse par Vincent D'Onofrio, étonnant comédien jadis révélé par sa prestation hallucinante dans <a href="http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00005NDS1/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk/276-7846983-3396258?ie=UTF8&tag=frkw003-21&linkCode=xm2" target="_top">Full Metal Jacket</a>. Même s'il ne leur ressemble pas du tout physiquement, Goren, en fait, est un peu ici le fils spirituel de <a href="http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B000QTD4RQ/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk/276-7846983-3396258?ie=UTF8&tag=frkw003-21&linkCode=xm2" target="_top">Maigret</a> et de <a href="http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B001M4HZA6/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk/276-7846983-3396258?ie=UTF8&tag=frkw003-21&linkCode=xm2" target="_top">Columbo</a>. Du premier, il possède l'art d'accoucher les coupables. Du second, celui de déstabiliser les suspects. Son regard est doux, sa voix onctueuse, ses manières suaves, mais derrière cette extrême urbanité, ce vernis inoffensif, se cachent en réalité une hyper-acuité psychologique, une rouerie jubilatoire, une redoutable habileté à déceler le mensonge et à confondre les criminels qui font de chacune de ses enquêtes un plaisir de chaque instant. Ce commentaire fait référence à cette édition : New York Section Criminelle – Saison 4 (DVD)

Spin-off de Law And Order, cette série de facture classique est un modèle de savoir-faire et d’efficacité narrative. On y suit le travail d’une brigade de la police new-yorkaise, la “Major Case Squad”, qui s’occupe des affaires criminelles les plus sensibles. Réalisation sobre, esthétique réaliste, intrigues subtiles. Question qualité, c’est tout simplement irréprochable. On a aucun mal à croire que ces deux la sont des frères. De plus, certains épisodes (1x09, 1x18...) explorent le personalité des frères et nous racontent pourquoi ils sont ainsi aujourd'hui, ce qui les rend très attachants.<br/><br/>Au cours de la saison, un autre arc scénaristique s'ajoute à celui de la recherche de John Winchester : le destin de Sam, qui développe des pouvoirs surnaturels et découvre que la mort de sa mère n'était pas le fruit du hasard. Je ne veux pas trop en dire mais ces deux arcs finissent par ce rejoindre et forment l'intrigue principale de la saison 2, qui est vrai petit bijou télévisuel.<br/><br/>Enfin, on ne peux pas parler de Supernatural sans mentionner sa Bande Originale, essentiellement constituée des morceaux cultes de Rock des années 80. Boston, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company... tout y passe, et c'est du bon. Supernatural raconte l’histoire de Sam et Dean, deux frères dont la mère est morte mystérieusement 20 ans auparavant, qui se lancent à la recherche de leur père disparu et qui, dans cette saison, parcourent les Etats-Unis au volant de la voiture de Dean, une Chevrolet Impala de 67 (le 3ème personnage de la série pour les fans).
